Margot Hayward, Harpist
Lyon & Healy Harps
Based in Chicago, Lyon & Healy is the leading manufacturer of pedal and lever harps in the U.S. Their instruments are widely used by professional harpists, leading universities and conservatories, as well as major orchestras.
The Virginia Harp Center
The Virginia Harp Center is the main distributor of leading French harpmaker, Camac Harps, for the U.S. market. They also carry Lyon and Healy and Salvi harps, as well as some used instruments.
The Harp Column
As the leading harp magazine, the harp column is a worthwhile subscription for any harpist. They have a classified section, both on their website and in the magazine, which can be a valuable resource for anyone looking to purchase a pre-owned instrument.
The American Harp Society
The aim of the American Harp Society is to "promote and foster the appreciation of the harp as a musical instrument, to encourage the composition of music for the harp and to improve the quality of performance of harpists." There are many benefits to being a member, and any harpist is encouraged to join.
Harp.com
Run by Lyon & Healy West out of Salt Lake City, Utah, harp.com is a valuable resource for purchasing music, strings, and other accessories. Indeed, if you are looking for anything harp related you are bound to find it here!
Vanderbilt Music
Another great resource for purchasing music, strings, and other accessories related to playing the harp. Vanderbilt Music is based in Bloomington, Indiana, and is one of my favorite places to purchase harp music.
